Pastry Chef Kayo is a graduate of New England
Culinary Institute, Vermont.
She received her AOS
in Culinary Arts and BA in Food and Beverage Management.
After graduation, her first job was
decorating wedding cakes at The Inn at Essex, Vermont.
During summer, busy wedding season, Kayo decorated and set
up four to five wedding cakes every weekend.
In
October, 2001, the opportunity came for her to move to
Tortola, British Virgin Islands, to make more cakes. Here,
her Caribbean dream came true!! And two months later from
the company transfer offer, she was standing in the place
that is commonly known as “the last Caribbean paradise.”

While in Tortola, Chef Kayo worked at
Tortola NECI as a cake decorator. And also was made
in charge of all cakes at The Road Town Bakery
there. The Road Town Bakery was part of British
Virgin Island H. Lavity Stoutt Community College.
Kayo was promoted to the Pastry Chef
Instructor in her second year. She taught and
instructed students in the Pastry class besides
making complicated decoration cake orders. (See The BVI Stand Point newspaper add.)
After three years of British Virgin
Island life, Kayo moved to Bermuda for a new job in
a four-star resort hotel, where she was responsible
for wedding cakes, special occasion cake orders and
dinner buffet besides preparing and serving a la
carte desserts for
the restaurants.
Upon marriage, Kayo started her own
cake business

to focus on cake decoration. Chef
Kayo’s desire is to make people happy with her
