  About Cake Boutique Celebration

Pastry Chef Kayo is a graduate of New England Culinary Institute, Vermont.
She received her AOS in Culinary Arts and BA in Food and Beverage Management.

After graduation, her first job was decorating wedding cakes at The Inn at Essex, Vermont. During summer, busy wedding season, Kayo decorated and set up four to five wedding cakes every weekend.

In October, 2001, the opportunity came for her to move to Tortola, British Virgin Islands, to make more cakes. Here, her Caribbean dream came true!! And two months later from the company transfer offer, she was standing in the place that is commonly known as “the last Caribbean paradise.”

While in Tortola, Chef Kayo worked at Tortola NECI as a cake decorator. And also was made in charge of all cakes at The Road Town Bakery there. The Road Town Bakery was part of British Virgin Island H. Lavity Stoutt Community College.

Kayo was promoted to the Pastry Chef Instructor in her second year. She taught and instructed students in the Pastry class besides making complicated decoration cake orders. (See The BVI Stand Point newspaper add.)

After three years of British Virgin Island life, Kayo moved to Bermuda for a new job in a four-star resort hotel, where she was responsible for wedding cakes, special occasion cake orders and dinner buffet besides preparing and serving a la carte desserts for the restaurants.

Upon marriage, Kayo started her own cake business Cake Boutique Celebration to focus on cake decoration. Chef Kayo’s desire is to make people happy with her cakes.
